  22.    WHAT IS DISKSTATE?
  23.    __________________________________________________________________

  25.       This   program  reports  the  current  state  of   your  disks:
  26.       Total MegaBytes, GigaBytes, the amount of space used  and free, 
  27.       and the useable swap space (or memory usage). Furthermore,  one
  28.       can browse through the folder  structure with an  intuitive pie 
  29.       chart showing relative folder space used.
  30.  
  31.       DiskState can also eliminate space wasted after program crashes 
  32.       or by temporary files no longer needed.

  34.       The Duplicate Finder of DiskState uses e.g. a powerful  128-bit 
  35.       MD5 technology to track down redundant files. Even if the file
  36.       names are different, DiskState identifies duplicates by content 
  37.       and displays duplicates in a comprehensive list.

  39.       Got a lot of MP3s, image files and other multimedia duplicates? 
  40.       Then DiskState  can   help  you with  an easy-to-use  wizard to
  41.       remove those hogging duplicate multimedia files!

  43.       Next, DiskState can capture the state of  all files recursively 
  44.       in a folder tree. This enables the user  to compare  old states 
  45.       with newly captured  ones.   Ideally  for detecting  changes in 
  46.       files, deleted and added files in a given folder structure.

  48.       Reports can be generated to  find e.g.  the oldest  files,  zip
  49.       files etc. on  a  disk volume.   The whole report  generator is 
  50.       user-customizable. Adding new reports is simple.

  52.       DiskState provides a deletion engine  for  scheduling  cleanups 
  53.       regularly.

  55.       A cool tool to extract boot blocks in a multi-boot environment.
  56.       This is useful  if e.g.  Windows Me  installer or  Windows 2000
  57.       boot menu has  erased  your  Linux Lilo  boot block.   Add e.g.
  58.       Linux,  BeOS,  OS/2 and over  200 known  boot  blocks  to  your
  59.       Windows NT or 2000 boot menu.

  61.       DiskState  has  various  cleanup  tools.   One example  is  the 
  62.       "Cover Your Tracks" to  remove traces  you leave after  surfing 
  63.       the web.  The includes a nifty Cookie Manager:   Remove cookies 
  64.       selectively using sub-string matches,  all-at-once or by manual 
  65.       selections.

  67.       All in all, this  is a small but  powerful tool to  analyze and 
  68.       tidy your computer in a nice safe way.

  95.       through the installation  process. If you are using Windows 95,
  96.       you need the Common Controls Update.

  102.       To un-install DiskState, please perform these steps:
  103.       
  104.        1) Open the Windows Control Panel.
  105.        2) Click on  the  Add/Remove Programs   icon  in  the  control
  106.           panel.
  107.        3) Select "DiskState" from the list of programs.
  108.        4) Click on "Add/Remove" to uninstall DiskState.
  109.       
  110.       This application will then be removed from your computer.
